Hello!
Nope, not heading to nursing school. Yeesh, I don't think I am cut out for a field in any type of medicine related business. How do I know this, well, Jim spent Labor Day weekend and a grand total of 11 days in the hospital. {those were some long days} If you and I aren't friends on Facebook, then you probably don't know that my husband was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and it was a surprise to all of us, happened in a blink of the eye.
He was sent to the ER for blood on friday night, since his was dangerously low and they did a cat scan and found a mass in his colon. Sunday, he had a colonscopy and monday {labor day} they removed a large portion of his colon.
Today he recieved his 'ok' to return to work on Oct 15th and chemo starts next wednesday. We are looking at 6 months/every 2 weeks. They are treating it aggressively, even though his lymph nodes came out clean. It seems that under the microscope, the cells of the tumor were not pretty. It's like a whole new world and learning about cancer on a very personal level.
Our new puppy, Story, comes home this friday. Life is just moving forward here and we are keeping busy. September was all about surgery/recovery and I can't believe it's over. Oh, and playing nurse...I have now done some odd things that I have never done before, for Jim. LOL .
Playing nurse has not been horrible, but I still have my day job and that is still 10 hour days. Ummmm, let's call me wonder woman, ok? I just wanted to say a quick HI and let you know that while I am not creating anything yet...I think about. :)
Omg - think I'm a witch.....I have been thinking of you this past couple of days and was intending to pop across n leave a wee note! I was so excited to see a post by you.....but was shocked and saddened by its content! I'm sure it sent your wee fam into a total spin! thank god for superwoman. I guess we never know how strong we are unless tested like this. Thank god Jim has you to care about him and for him, oh, and to carry out those unusual tasks for him!! Lol anyway, I'm so glad he has a treatment plan and I will pray that everything works out wonderfully for you all! bx (don't know quite how I'm signed in- sorry)!!!!!!! bx

Paula I decided to check in with some wishful thinking that you might be creating. I am so sorry to hear the news of your husband's illness but glad to hear you have a plan. It seems to help me to have a direction and hopefully that will keep you all moving forward. Don't forget to take care of Paula in the midst of all this.

I have been where you are and in many ways still am where you are. Call me when you want to whine...I'll listen!

Dear Paula,
I was just checking in to hopefully see some great puppy pics, when I read your lastest. Oh man... I will be praying for you and your hubby for a strengthened faith and that God will grant him a clean bill of health. I miss you and Linda's blog something fierce.. I find myself these days uninspired and missing my two gal artistic flair.
Stay strong and keep your chin up and your spirits higher!
