has been in the making for two nights! Trying to design an acrylic card can be a challenge, when you want to leave a space for a little note inside. I am using a card from my sistah Linda's blog as the inspiration, check it out here. I just feel in love with Linda's card as soon as I saw it and wanted to do something just like it for my monkey anniversary card. My card is not near as elegant as Linda's but Changito, from Stampendous is kinda cute! lol
I like this card, but I still want to keep trying this idea with different stamps. I stamped the coconut tree on the acrylic with my staz-on, but I slid it behind the frame area so as not to cover the little girl monkey. I took my ultra fine pen and drew the tree onto the cardstock. The easiest way I could figure to layer the monkeys and the tree was to sandwich to monkeys between acrylic sheets, so the monkeys were not glued to the inside of the card...I hope that makes sense.
You can kinda see to the left of this photo, how the front of the card looks from the inside. I stamped the palm leaves in shades of green chalk ink and wrote the tiny sentiment. What do ya think?
Tomorrow I will show you another new release card from Whipper Snapper Designs! Stay tuned, fall is in the air...
Oh Paula....if you could see me now you would see one HUGE smile!!!!!!!! Yes, sistah, you did flatter me and there is nothing that makes me happier!
