Hey there! I know, it's been a long, long time and ya probably think I melted in the hot temps. But rest assured, I was sweating and miserable as everyone else out there. lol, well, I say LOL, but I was a like ready to pull my hair out. It was too hot for too long! If you are Facebook friends with me then you know I was ranting on there!
This weekend I am teaching at Stamping Bella and I finally have my cards done and ready to show anyone who is signed up and wondering what's in store. I am teaching in the p.m. class, unlike the last time I mentioned it on here. hehe, Emily and I got our emails crossed and she said she had Linda in the a.m. Now this should not come as news to anyone in the class, but it was news to me when Emily and I spoke...so just so you know we ain't too crazy in the head. {well, maybe a little?} The boss says I come in the p.m., I come in the p.m.
I told ya this class is all UPTOWN Girls!! I am so excited... So here is what I have prepared for us...
LUCIELLE sends her LOVE, because love is sent all the time and not just for Valentine's Day!
Ava loves to CELEBRATE, because who doesn't want their best friend to bring over a three tiered cake on their birthday!
VICTORIA & JULIETTE's night out, because we all have that 'fun' friend who needs a girly card!
ISABELLE loves her ICE CREAM, because we all have a sweet friend or we are always on a diet. LOL, the calorie sentiment that comes with this image is on the inside of the card.
So there ya have it. Linda and I have one crossover card that she & I are doing...the AVA loves to CELEBRATE. haha, lets just hope we picked different color schemes!!
Now, here comes the part of my post that I don't know how to say other than I am taking a blogging break. In my mind I'm thinking that's what I'm calling it.
Maybe you wondered what was going on in the almost month since I last posted and while that stretch wasn't planned out, it just happened that way. I was doing some summer things around here, working on class stuff, and I kinda let the blog sit on the back burner. I sent a few emails back and forth to Emily, went up north to see my parents over the 4th of July and still...I worked on class stuff, but didn't miss the blog.
My mind has been preoccupied by other things, and for the first time in nearly 5 years...I didn't feel guilty for doing them. Or, as was the case many times, didn't do something because I had cards to make. I have gotten my deck finished and now buying stuff for it. It's my deck and no one enjoys it at my house except for me, and the animals, lol. I have been redoing a flower bed and it all started last fall, and I am happy to say...it is almost finished. I want more dirt and need to plant some perrenials.
Work has been busy and while my hiatus these past few weeks wasn't planned, it has gone right along side of overtime. Yes, it's that time of year when we are looking at 6 saturdays...starting with this weekend and I am in Toronto. There is a part of me that is very relieved that these two paths are headed in the same direction. Because one thing that I have learned is that when I have worked overtime and tried to keep a blogging schedule, I get stressed out. Part of your brain says go color and part says just chill out.
During this period of 'non blogging', I am going to take the time to REALLY leave Typepad and take myself to Blogger. When I do blog, or pick up my pencils to share something with you...it will be from a whole new site.
I have paid for my paulatracy.com address, and the NEW blog will be accessable from there, when I switch to Blogger. I will stick with the 'paula 2.0' name...i think.
I am happy to have been a source of inspiration and I am looking forward to trying some other interests out. {I have stuff pinned on Pinterest that I wanna make!!} But, after that, I am not sure where the wind is blowing me. :)
Fabulous cards ♥♥

Firstly 4gorgeous cards....lucky class girls!!! I know they are lucky cos I got to be in one of your classes....a dream for me!!!!! Secondly you have indeed been a HUGE source of inspiration for me and many many others.......blogging takes a lot of time, I had to take a rest from it for a while and have never got back into the full swing of it......too little time and so much to do....we have to find a balance. So I fully understand this change but you will be missed!!! Njoy your patio, and your summer Et al! bx

Paula you know I am a huge fan. Your cards have been such a huge inspiration for me, so you will be missed. I will look so forward to when you come back but I totally understand your blogging break...heck...it can seem like work and stress you right out and when it does that you KNOW it is time to take a break. Your class cards are going to be a hit. I know the ladies are really looking forward to it!

Oh Paula, good for you!! It's always best to do what is in your heart! I am not a regular blogger at all, but still, feel guilty when a month has passed and I don't post anything... how crazy is that??? But where I really feel guilty is that I haven't been checking and commenting on the blogs that I love!!! Like they will know I haven't been by!! LOL!!! But life is life and there is so much going on!! Enjoy your deck, your quiet times and when you're back to blogging, we'll be here to cheer you on!! Again, I wish so much I lived close enough to take classes from your fabulousness (is that a word?...is now!) Your talent is amazing and I am in awe of you!
The cards are fabulous and now I have to spend more money, because who can resist those adorable Uptown Girls!!!!!???
Happy Summer, happy times!!
Hugs,
Teri

Paula, I am just glad to hear you're doing good. I don't blame you one bit for wanting a break but I sure will miss your wonderful cards and your fun posts. I love my front porch so I can totally relate to your wanting to spend time on your deck. Enjoy it and when you're working those long hours go out there and unwind!

I absolutely love your color combinations, and the sparkle on the designs. Uptown girls have become a favorite of mine, and I just got my last order of stamps. What kind of sparkle do you use and what inks or pens?

I will be waiting with baited breath for your new blog, lol! One of these days I'll have to make it to your class...what is it, like a 12 hour drive? No problem!
Take your break, enjoy your garden and deck, and come back when you feel like it...feels good, don't it?!
