Hey guys! I hope you are all enjoying the start of summer so far. Since I was outta commision for what seemed like the entire month of May, not feeling like doing anything other than the reallly needed stuff...I have kicked into high gear at my house. Part of my plans for cutting back on some card making, was to get some home projects finished. I wanted to powerwash and stain my deck & I still have a flowerbed that needs tearing apart. {not looking forward to THAT} Last saturday evening I decided to break out the powerwasher. 2 years old and not working, so a trip to Lowes had me grabbing another one and it worked WAY better than the non-functioning one.
My deck is scrubbed clean and wednesday I took a palm sander and hits some furry areas and it's nice, smooth and ready for the stain. I get to start the railings tonight, with a friend helping me and I am really happy!! This weekend, it should be finished and I can go looking for a cool rug for under my table. My deck is really nice ceder and I have put off doing this for several years now. LOL, don't even ask about Jim. I am the only one who sits out here.
In other ~NEWS~ Lindabella & I are gonna each teach one class at Stamping Bella in JULY. Saturday, July 14th, to be exact! I am going to teach a pencil class in the morning and Linda will teach her copic magic in the afternoon. Obviously seating will be limited since we are only doing one class, so check in with Stamping Bella is you want to join us!! Plans are that Linda and I will be doing UPTOWN Girls. We LOVE them and it seems they are a hit with ya'll too. hehe I am prepping for 4 cards for my class and I gotta get this rolling along..soon as my deck is all finished. ;)
I know I said that I had to link up cards for SALE, and that is still coming, promise. I have a LOAD of cards to get onto my Splitcoaststampers gallery...woooo, I am so behind in lots of stuff.
Now, lets talk friday, TODAY & BellaRIFFIC Friday! You have come to expect a fun shot of inspiration and I hope I don't let you down here. This week we were told to pick a previous sketch and use that. I used a sketch from April and matched it up with 'Fixer Girl' {Mo Manning} from Stamping Bella.
Oh man, if any little girl looks like Emily's little girl Jayden...I think it's this little girl. I can just picture Jayden wanting to help out Ryan with some household chore.
I was flipping through my paper pads when I came upon this pair of papers in my Crate Paper 'Farmhouse' 6x6 pad. The yardstick print seemed perfect and the small flowered paper has lots of colors to bring out in the image. I may be a cardmaking sin, but I have not added any glitter on this lil girl. Can you believe it?? I did spice up the inside though...check it out...
For once I was looking to see what sentiment came with 'Fixer Girl', but there isn't one. It didn't take me long to decide on the one I used, 'like father, like daughter'. Little girls love to help out daddy as much as boys do, so I stamped this out with one of my $1.00 alphabet sets.
I LOVE using these and if you're lucky and in Michael's, sometimes they still carry these sets.
...card recipe:
Finished size is 5" x 6", Bazzill cs, Bella's BEST paper {for image}, Crate Paper 'Farmhouse' 6x6 pad, 'Fixer Girl' from Stamping Bella, memento ink, colored pencils, gamsol/OMS, alphabet stamps, micron 01 black pen & sewing.
Summer is not slowing the BABE's down and next weeks challenge is to ink up your favorite GIRL stamp. The choices, the choices, the choices...lol. Good luck picking just one. :)
I will share a pic of the deck when it's finished. Cross your fingers I find a cool rug too. Have a great weekend and I will see you soon.
Your right about that image Paula, it does look like Jayden.
Awesome job on your image Paula...AWESOME!
I know all about the work and up keep a deck consumes! You know, Mike H may have come and helped you, maybe not picking out the rug but certainly helping you with the powerwashing! Personaly I think you did a might fine job without him.....
