so stinkin' cute...

warning...what I am about to show you is yet anouther stamp from a set that I have never used

What the heck is the matter with me? This is way too cute!DSC02629

I had a couple papers in mind for the bottom half of this card. One patterned paper was a companion piece to the red polka dotted paper, from My Minds Eye. It was much lighter, with tiny red strawberries, but too "light" to be on the bottom of this card. I needed something stronger to balance out the top. I had just used this black striped paper on a masculine birthday card, so it was in the front of my paper box. I added some lace that I had forgotten I bought a few days earlier, store closing sale, great deal!

This little skunk got some glitter too, don't know if you can tell it's on his tail and the top of his head. I seperated the sentiment from the image and used my word window punch from Stampin' Up to move it to the lower part of my card.

Well, it's monday...but this week is only a 4 day work week and I am excited! Nothing to do on friday, no plans, maybe a few cards in my future? Or I can work on the other non-card projects that have been sitting on the backburner. So much to think about! LOL Come on back for some more cards tomorrow! :)

a fishy friend...

I made a card last week for a 50th birthday girl. This girl is also a huge fishing fan, so what a better card than "fishy friends" from Stampin' Up! One of my original stamps, and not used in a looooong time! DSC02630

It is very unusual for me to grab paper first, and color with that in mind, but I kinda did that this time. I wanted something fish/water like and I think this is a scrap of Basic Grey I had. Have I said that I really love this stamp set?? Ok, well, my next inspiration is from a book that I never purchased for Jordan, never wanted to pay the price...The Rainbow Fish. I always loved the colors and the shiny fish scales.

I grabbed a few bright greens and blues in my prismacolor stash, and started coloring, with a lot of pressure, I wanted it to be solid and bold...I knew I was gonna add that glitter!

I used my Spellbinder dies to cut the circle and scallop and I used a stamp from the "fun filled" Stampin' Up! set, to add the circles on the top of my card. {{I used Versamark for the circles}} I already know I am gonna do more of these cards, I just loved how it came out!

Thanks for stopping by today! I might be busy for the next month...I am gonna start building an ark. I am begining to think I am still living in Florida, we get rain just about every day...not the usual dry Michigan summer this year.

a masculine birthday card...

This is an older Stampin' Up! set I bought last year at a garage sale, up north. This is only the second card I made with it...OMG, how sad am I? DSC02624 I think my favorite thing about this card is the look that it has...it reminds me of victorian times, and parlor wallpaper? I like it's crisp look, and I have never done anything like this before. Yeah, outta my comfort zone! LOL

The little 'father' brad/eyelet is from Making Memories and slowly I have been using them up. Did I tell you that I seperated my embellishments into craft boxes, the ones for storing DMC floss and etc. I know what you are probably thinking, I don't put a ton of embellishments on my cards, but I have been using more, thanks to my re-organization of supplies.

TGIF...TGIF

I am planning a trip to the "ribbon wall" tonight, at Paper Tales. I have not been to see it since Good Friday...way too long ago. I just am keeping my fingers crossed I have company...oh, BFF!

busy bee...

DSC02627 Here are just a few more of the 4th of July cards I have been working on. These guys are just too cute with their sparkling wings and huge smiles!

The top kraft/white pp is from Making Memories. I have bought several pieces of this line, but this is the first time I  used the paisley pattern. I wrote the sentiment on this set of cards, saving a little time from the tiny tag letters I like to use.

How about DSC02622something a little different here. A set of friends, eating their way through a box of chocolates!

I colored this on Sunday, when I was at Archivers, and didn't get a chance to put it together until a day ago. The pp behind the mice is from Basic Grey. It was a flower, can't remember which line from Basic Grey, but the colors were so perfect for the box of candy! A couple layers of ribbon, and a cuttlebug tag later and I am in love!

I am looking forward to the weekend, how about you? I will be getting my blog candy ready and posted. Thanks for looking in today! paula

sweet summer swingin'...

I know I just posted a couple days ago, using Changito from Stampendous. As usual, I stamped him out on white, and a couple other colors...kraft and pink. Since pink if for girls...I turned my monkey into a girl with a tiny pink bow in her hair! {{ Ever since I watched BJ and the Bear, when I was a kid, I have wanted a monkey! }}

The paper I used for the card base is from Paper Trey Ink, Bazzill and SEI {pp }. The satin ribbon is from Michael's and the green metal flowers are from Close To My Heart.

DSC02620 DSC02626 Honestly, I don't know which little girl I like best! LOL...DSC02625

I do know that I really like stamping on Kraft paper. I love how colors "pop" on the neutral background, specially the light colors.

I have to tell you that I don't have any more of these images colored up. I have been on a card making blitz the past two days, cranking out some patriotic bee's from Stampendous. I have come home from work and have made 15 cards. These three are included in that 15, and I have two more to do tonight, for birthdays at work on friday.

Finally using a Stampin' Up set that I bought in my last order...

Have a great night, and see ya soon!

happy birthday dana...

Yesterday was my friend Dana's birthday, and a few of us celebrated with an afternoon at Archivers. Dana and I sat and colored and Mary, worked on stuff she bought at the Mega Meet a month ago. Ok, I colored all kinds of stuff, non of which made it out of my bag when I got home... But I wanna show you the card I made for Dana yesterday morning, inspired by the movie...Marie Antoinette. Have I told you how I have gotten pulled into all these period movies and I am addicted. {{ Hey, it's better than booze and cigarettes! }} I know this is getting further away from my card I wanna show you, but, The Other Boleyn Girl was awesome, and that led to Elizabeth and Elizabeth The Golden Years. DSC02613

I guess the other name for this should be"everything but the kitchen sink" French feel can be shabby and kinda un-matchy. The chef is from Voila, sold at Stampin' Up! I glittered him up and  pulled out some papers I love and hopefully they work for you, like I feel they work for me. Shabby is not my forte, by a longshot, but I was feeling something yesterday morning.

Dana and I are part of the "movie ring" at work and she is watching the same period movies I am, and she just watched my Marie Antoinette movie last week. I added "Let them eat cake" at the bottom, as a nod to Madame Marie, even though she really didn't say that phrase. {{ I am reading the book right now too, and it is a hard read for me, but I am enjoying it!}}

I will stop rambling and leave you with two of my favorite things in my garden...my lilies and my purple clematis. Wow, I could look at them forever!DSC02619

I {{{ heart }}} orange!

I love it, love it, LOVE it! I wanted my new car to be orange but I went with "Carbon Flash", otherwise known as metalic black. I didn't tell you about my new car, a 2008 Saturn Vue...it is soooo pretty.  I didn't think I would go back to something higher off the ground, but a test drive changed my mind. I stopped by the dealership a couple weeks ago and came home and asked Jim if he wanted to know what I bought! Back to my love of orange and a birthday card I made for one of my friends at work...DSC02603

I had the cake {{from Stampin' Up}}, colored and waiting to be turned into a card. I pulled out some orange cardstock and a piece of patterned paper from Tres Jolie. I used my dotted swiss folder from Cuttlebug and added some glitter and bling to the cake.  That awesome orange ribbon is from some gift, I always save ribbon, when I can. The little sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink, mixed messages. Since the cake was pink and orange I did also use Paper Treys pink cardstock for my card base. I would love for someone to give this to me!

I have been catching up this weekend on all my blog gazing. I don't frequent a lot of message boards, but I want to pass on this gem I found at Michaels. They have been getting in a ton of new merchandise....LONG overdue and they are now carrying the Crop-o-dile 2! I was able to use my 50% off coupon and picked one up for myself and as a gift for my friend who got this card. {{I had 2 coupons}}  I love my crop-o-dile, but wasn't gonna buy the larger one unless I found at Joann's or Michael's, when I had a 50% off coupon.  I love a great deal, and was thrilled when I saw it sitting down at the bottom of the peg section...I swear it called my name. LOL

Maybe you guys have one, or felt like I did, no way giving $40.00 for one. I just thought I would share my find with you. The larger chain stores have such older product that I don't use my coupons much. I loved seeing mew stuff!

Have a great day, love Paula :)

feeling patriotic...

This week I got to use my patriotic bees from Stampendous. DSC02600

Maybe patriotic is a stretch..but this guy looks like he is coming over for hot dogs on the fourth of July! I only made one of these cards and I have to color up some more this weekend.

Since I have been a little slow this week in posting I am just gonna show you the other card i made that kinda goes with this one...DSC02601

This little bee is dressed as the Statue of Liberty and I had to have him too.

Both bees are cut out with my Spellbinder dies, this guy on the left is my new tag die.  Both cards also use the $1.00 alphabet stamps from Studio G, a division of Hampton Arts. I saw them in a magazine, and found them at my lss. {{I am gonna be giving some away soon, stay tuned this week!!}}

The paper from the God Bless America card is Stampin up, it was a hostess gift that I have not put into use until this card...shame on me! LOL

I added my favorite Hero Arts glitter to both of the bees wings and the sparklers. The red checkered paper is the only piece of 'picnic' looking paper I have and I found it for 10 cents at Lifetime Moments.com. I thought that I had more checked paper, but this worked for me.

I hope you are all enjoying the full summer days...I still feel like the days are too short, but I am keeping busy with making grad cards for all these up coming parties. I found a design I liked and I will show it to you tomorrow. All the grads that we are attending parties for, are getting one, just different colors! It is quick, easy and what could be better.

I have a party today and then tomorrow I am going to Archivers to spend some time with a few friends, using their crop room. That reminds me, I need a birthday card for one of those girls...see still busy! Thanks for stopping by!

something for gabriela...

One of my youngest "fans" is a little girl named Gabriela. Her grandma sends her cards every week because she lives about sixty miles south of where we are in Michigan. Helen, her grandma, is someone I have worked with for almost 12 years! Yikes! Helen and I were talking last week about Gabriela and how she is saving all her cards in her drawer until one day when she can read them herself. Helen mention getting her a special box to keep them all in and voila, I had an idea while walking into Michael's last week.

Photo boxes are perfect for storing all kinds of kid stuff and cheap enough to replace if you need to. I found the perfect purple box and decorated it for Gabriela a couple nights ago. This is the purple, horse loving little girl I made a card for a few months ago. But I don't have a lot of purple paper and I kinda mixed it up a bit.DSC02599

The paper is from, I don't know where? LOL, the chipboard stars are from Cosmo Cricket and the G is from Heidi Swapp. I used some of the stamps from Stampin' Ups Wanted set, and Bronc Buster set.

I wrote the little sentiment across the bottom half of the box. It says, 'if you reach for the stars, anything is possible'. Gabriela and her Grandma had a conversation about reaching for the stars, she asked her Grandma if it really was possible. I thought it seemed kinda fitting with all the stars I put on the box. I hope she likes it!

Thanks for coming on by and welcome all you new subscribers! Hope you are all liking what you're seeing and getting inspired...now go create something!  bye...

who doesn't love...

monkeys??DSC02597

I have had my eyes on Changito the monkey, from Stampendous...for some time now. I really liked this little guy on the swing, so he was my first purchase! Since then I have also added some of their acrylic Changito stamps, that I picked up at Archivers. One of them is an Archivers exclusive too!

This was a pretty quick coloring job with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The leaf pattern paper is from Sassafrass Lass, cardstock from Stampin Up and Archivers, and the ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink. I didn't put any sentiment on it or on the inside because I think it could be used for a lot of different occasions. Jessica nabbed him at work and I gotta make more, I am just too in love with this new friend! LOL

Hope you enjoy looking at him too, because he will be hanging out on my blog for a while...no pun intended! :)
