$1.50 bargain stamp...

You know I love a bargain, and how could I resist this stork!052708 001 The side of the stamp says 'stampa rosa' on it, so not exactly sure where it came from, but it is cute.

I gave this to Jessica at work, to see if she thought it fit the 'scottish' look her MIL was wanting. Jessica loved it and said she would keep it if her MIL didn't want it. LOL! Stork and baby have a new home..

The plaid/polka dotted paper is from Chatterbox and something I just picked up. It is the only plaid I have for girls and I thought it all went together great. I used my new oval nestibilities...yummy...and some pink sheer ribbon. The little tag is from a cuttlebug die, and the little sentiment is from PaperTreyInk, Mixed Messages. I have this stork stamped out on green and want to try and color him up with my pencils and see how it looks. So many things to color and so little time to color them! haha

Well girls, you will be happy to know that my feet were scrubbed and rubbed to perfection this afternoon and they are ready for some summer sun. I gave the young girl doing my feet and my daughter and her friend, a little laugh with how ticklish the bottom of my feet are. I am telling you that you would not have been able to tell if I was being shocked or being pampered today. I was jumping so bad in the chair and then the girl just kept flicking the pumice brush in the same spot and watching me! What torture and I had to pay for this!!

Well I need to get my craft on and see what happens! Talk to ya soon!   :)

tropical father's day...

052608 Obviously I didn't spend any time while I was up north trying to figure this new setup on typepad! Good thing all I did was relax and read US magazine!  We got home yesterday around 3 in the afternoon and I was able to cross another card off my list. Jessica {{co-worker/super card customer}} needed a father's day card with a hawaiian twist. And don't ask, somehow her dad called himself 'buff daddy' and it has stuck. I can put anything on a card, no problem...LOL! I had folded the oragami shirt a long time ago, but had to 'google it' in order to fold this one. Just a little note, it is way easier to fold money instead of paper! The hawaiian paper is from Flair Design and I have had it for a long time, just haven't finished my Hawaii pictures from a few years ago. I cut out some palm looking fronds and threw the whole thing together in no time! Jessica loved it and Starr loved her birthday card I made last week...the one with the red glittered star!

I picked up a stork stamp for $1.50 at a craft yard sale, and I colored one up last night, so hopefully I get to make something outta it tonight. I got a request for a scottish inspired baby shower card for a little girl?? Did I already tell you this? Anyways, that's what I am gonna work on. First I gotta tackle one little area in my yard that needs a tiny bit of TLC!

Thanks for stopping by! See ya soon!  paula

more dill blossom paper

I really like this Big on Spring stamp set from Stampin' Up! I think I have used up all the images I stamped out over at BFF Janine's house. {{I see another playdate int he future...wink}}

I was getting tired and it was getting late one night but I was finishing up watching some movie in my room, when I started to color this 'bride'. I love to add glitter to these wedding cards I have been making and this was no exception! I made it a little bolder in color and the glitter does tone it all down a bit, and it is so sparkly!

When I lay it down on the dill blossom paper, I thought it might be cute, and a tad different if I cut around the flowers like a scallop. What can I say, it turned out very pretty and I love the pink/brown combo...very in right now. My card basket at work is dwindling so I gotta be doing something right, right?

LOL, I just realized my dictionary is in the background of this picture...never knew I was an intellect did you!

For everyone in the military, past and present...Thanks for doing an awesome job!051908 002

friendly faces...

051408 003 I am having such a hard time with these new functions. Just keep that in mind when you are checking my stuff out here because I am not crazy! LOL

Ok, maybe just a little bit, but this is gonna drive me nuts!

This Flower Child set is from Close To My Heart and my BFF Mary gave it to me a couple months ago. I have been looking for a suitable purple shade to pairs this little gals up with and I finally found one I liked. Yeah! I cut the flower pots out and raised the upper part to give it a little more dimension. I also wrote out the sentiment myself and I think these stamps would be so cool on a scrapbook page with little kids in the garden!

I don't know who makes that purple polka dotted paper, but I picked it up at Lifetime Moments warehouse sale, the weekend of the Mega Meet. Lifetime is an online store, but they have their storefront just 10 minutes from my house...lucky me, I can order online and pick it up on the way home!  The little bit of brown flowery paper is from the SEI line called Dill Blossom, it is my new fav!

I have been adding to my Spellbinders nestabilities collection and I couldn't be more thrilled. I just picked up the oval set and I can't wait to get back from up north and play with all my new toys more. This has been my daughters last week of school and prom is this coming week...if you don't see me much, well, that's why. Graduation day is Sunday, the 1st! I have been working on my announcements and got it all mapped out for the inside, just gotta print it all out now!  enjoy!   paula :)

Typepad has done some changing...

And it looks like I gotta figure out how to use all the new font options. But until I do, how about a peek at my dad's father's day card? {{ I am so ahead of the game on this one!}}52208 002 I used a couple sets from Stampin' Up!, Wanted & Bronc Buster. The patterned paper is also from Stampin' Up! and goes with the stamp sets. I colored the images with my prismacolor pencils and some gamsol.  To keep it bright, I just pressed down on the pencil more than I normally would. I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities for the oval and the rectangle tag portions. I got such a nice emboss with the scalloped edge, first time I used a thick chipboard with my dies. LOVE IT!  Below are the two tags pulled out of the double pocket card52208 003. The'DAD' is from another stamp I showed you a few days ago, I just cut it out and added it to the tag, it's from Stampendous. I wanted to scan the picture and print it out in a sepia tone, but my scanner is misbehaving and so my dad is gonna get the card with the real photo sewn on. I do have a lot of pictures of me and my dad when I was small, so I didn't mind. Now, I didn't just make one of these, I did do another...in a different color!52208 005

I already have this one sold, just waiting on the photo!52208 006

The double pocket card is a folded card from Technique Junkies. I joined up just to get it last fall... Thanks for stopping by!  paula :)

Yes, her name is Starr...

And her birthday is on tuesday. So, I made her a special 'star' card tonight and it was pretty quick because I had already knew what I wanted to do. The large star is a Cosmo Cricket piece of chipboard and I threaded some of my really thick dotted ribbon in the button holes. That tres chic paper is from Making Memories and I pulled out my Hero Arts font that I am so fond of! LOL I added the tiny rhinestones to give it just a bit more sparkle, as if all the red glitter weren't enough, haha! There is a fine line between classy and tacky...I didn't want to cross it!

I am going to pre-post some more cards, because I am taking my a trip up to the 'thumb' area of Michigan to see my mom and dad. Hope you all have a great weekend and I will see ya next week!  bye... 52208 001

dad...

051908_005_2I got a request for a father's day card that can hold a gift card, any style I want. I used my new stampendous stamp I picked up a few weeks ago. Father's day stamps are not plentiful in my stash! My first ideas were to stamp it out on different colored paper and cut the words out to highlight whatever you want.  I had this piece os Scenic Route paper that I bought just for male cards in mind. I like the retro feel and I don't do rounded corners much, so it was something a little outta box for me. I have now used up the last pieces of my Stampin' Up twill and I gotta find more to replace it.  You can't see it too well, but this card is sitting in a mess! Man, when you see the two other father's day cards, you will know why! LOL  Guess what I will be doing when I get home from work today. Thanks for stopping! love paula :)

house mouse is back...

051908_003 Aren't these two cute!!  I picked this stamp up down in North Carolina and finally inked it up...I have been looking at it on my shelf for way over a month. I wrote my own sentiment on a Stampin' Up! tag, it says 'a recipe for friendship' There really were so many things that came to mind for this stamp, but in the end I made it for a friendship. The patterned paper is from my SEI stack of Dill Blossom, and the little dew drops are from the Robin's Nest.

Tonight I have been working on Fathers Days cards and got only one done and two in the works. The two in the works are a double pocket folded card that I folded up last fall? Yeah, they have been "aging" on my desk for a long time! LOL I am even using my Stampin' Up! cowboy themed stamps on those suckers, trying to branch out of my basic folded card. I realized real quickly that when you try to break from your same ol' same ol' routine...it takes so much longer! Wanna see my newly painted bathroom?

My bathroom is not big enough to get a decent picture of, we live in a single wide mobile home. This is my entertainment cabinet turned towel cabinet that the towels look a little messy in. My hot water tank is in the door on the left side of that cabinet, so you gotta have something in that area that can move if needed. The color I picked out is called cathedral stone, and we used a paint called Dulux, at an independant paint store. Loved it, and I will get it for my bedroom too.  051908_006

051908_007 My curtains will need to be changed over time, but this is my cats favorite window...right behind the toilet! I am in love with this color and I can't wait to get the bedroom started...I just gotta get over the feeling of hating painting!

See ya soon!   paula :)

more kewpies...

051408_001 This week I was using up some images I had colored and this little kewpie has been sitting on my desk for some time now. I think this would have made a really cute Easter card, but Easter had already past when I stamped it out.

The kewpies are from Clear Art Stamps and the 'embrace happiness' sentiment is from Papertreyink. I been seeing a lot of 'scoring' going on and I decided it was time to join in. I have the Scor-Pal and it is all I use for folding my cards. Today I used it to add some lines in my aqua strip of paper...I saw this on Nichole Heady's blog, I think.  I was going through so many blogs on friday night, that I could be wrong. I like the kewpies on the old fashioned paper, with the muted colors, this pp is from My Minds Eye. That cute little tag is from my cuttlebug and I now a nice little assortment from Spellbinders, you'll see all that soon.

My grad announcements will get made up today and I will show you what I come up with in tomorrows post. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to get the job done, right?  LOL  My bathroom is all painted and put back together, I just have a tiny bit of trim work around the shower to go over one more time. The color is awesome, I love looking at it...now onto that bedroom! Tommorrow is my 19th wedding anniversary and Jim is spending it at Ceder Point with a bunch of seniors for 'senior skip day'. I guess I will come home from work and do more announcements!

Have a super Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

friday night alone...

Yeah, that's me tonight. Jim is at work, Jordan has the car and I am sitting here on the computer...playing WebKins and reading blogs that I am soooo behind on. I am getting tired, but I need to tear apart my bathroom for painting tomorrow. So let me show you what I was ready to post yesterday when I was told by a certain {{and my only}} child, who needed the computer to do up a paper due today.051408_005

This little number was a special request from Judy, hey Jude, one of the chicas who I work with. She gave me the blue ribbon and asked if I could possibly work it into a wedding shower card. The color is not as turqouise as it looks here, but it is a strong color. This was a challenge for me and I was glad to accept it, not a problem. The problem came when I was talking on the phone to my mom and coloring up a couple of these flower dresses, tryin' to find the right look for the blue. Pink just wasn't an option it felt to baby shower-ish, so I tried an icy blue with a little grey...mmm that's more like it. A little yellow added and some glitter...perfect, I was happy. This set, Blooming with Happiness, is from Stampin' Up! and I bought it from my BFF's retired stash. So what do ya think?

I think I need to get the cake that is also in this set, colored and onto a card.

Before I get that done though, I gotta paint! LOL

I need to close tonight by answering a very kind girly who asked about where to buy SEI paper. I went straight to the SEI source at www.shopsei.com and the prices were the same as my lss. It can't get any better than the direct source, can it? Hope this helps, the Dill Blossom line is so much fun and I got another shower card coming up using that too.

Wish me luck on painting...I am rambling so I will say good night friends! See ya soon! Thanks for stopping by!   paula :)
