If you're lookin' here....

You're lookin' at another Mother's day card...042807_001 Awww, isn't this a sweet little bunny pair?  A quick google found that this company has been sold, but the stamp is from Uptown Rubber Stamps. If you are wondering where I found such a treasure, it was at Janine's house. I was stamping over there on saturday night and before I left, we were talking about Mother's day cards and she pulled out this stamp! So cute! She was like 'this makes a cute card', and then pulled out another for an anniversary. Guess who is getting that one in a few weeks! 19 years and it seems like yesterday!

Anyway, I am getting off the subject here...This card was made with my mom in mind, but I took it to work today and it is sold! Don't worry, I stamped out more than one! The metal 'mother' brad is the only one I had, left over from years ago, and by Making Memories. The pp is from Chatterbox. I colored the bunnies with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I am always looking for places to put my prima flowers ant this card was a perfect spot.

Have a great day, thanks for checking in and see ya real soon!!!!  love paula

mother's day love...

042708_002 Doesn't this card look like it belongs in a Martha Stewert magazine! The colors are what I always refer to as "martha" colors, and I have been on a kick using them. This cool double sided SEI paper...I only picked up two different sheets...is a new favorite too. I just love looking at the color combination.

This is yet another image from the Stampin' UP! set that I have been working with...Blooming With Love. The card base and ribbon are from Paper Trey Ink, and the other is Bazzill.

I am in the mood to do something different tonight, so I will be getting some wooden frames started. Oh yeah, covered in paper, and for boys! I really don't do alot of boy stuff and I need to break outta my comfort zone! LOL

I also came home today and did a little 'research' and was hopping around to some blogs. Last week I was given my first blog award from Deb Wood! Thanks Deb, I see you're a serious SCS'er, and always leaving me such kind comments! Artebypicoaward_3 She bestowed upon me this Arte Y Pico award, and I need to pass along the honors to five other people I feel inspire me. Five?  I found a few just roaming along Deb's blog in the past hour! {{I need to spend some more time on Splitcoast.}}

My list, in no particular order, is...

                     amanda sewell

                     heavens created this

                                          punkydoodles blog

                                          dawn mcvey

                                          anna wight

If you are reading this and have not checked out these blogs, you gotta take a peek. At some point I am inspired by these five listed above and all the others on my list...and so many more. I am stunned at all this creativity online!! Thanks again Deb!

Beate's weekend sketch...

Good Morning from Sunny Michigan!  I love to wake up and see the sun shining, and then realize it isn't a work day, LOL... Yesterday I spent a little time cleaning and the evening was spent in my room with my toys and sketch WSC45. This weekend it really was a sketch that led to three cards in one evening. Wanna see the original card?042708_001

I used the same Blooming with Love set from SU. I love the sketchy flowers, very modern! The great double sided paper is new from SEI...{{notice the sketchy birds, love them too!}}  I colored the wheelbarrel of flowers first and the paper matched perfectly. There is a thin black line in the striped portion, so I pulled it out and made a slightly thicker black line. I know it kinda cuts the card in two, but the colors in real life are so bright that it all holds together really good.

When I stamped this out over at BFF Janine's house, I also stamped it onto some pale pink cardstock, from Archivers. Here is that card too...042708_003

Pink and purple and glittered, oh, my! I played around with the glittery MOM, and finally ended up using creamy carmel {{on the same pale pink cs}} and glittered it with Hero Arts glitter. I then just randomly put some glitter on the small flowers, all over the card. Doesn't every mom deserve a littel glitter?

As you can see, I have had Mother's day on the mind this weekend, and another one to show you tomorrow.

Speaking of Mother's day...that is the weekend of the Great Lakes Mega Meet. Is anyone else out there gonna attend? I took thursday off and I can't wait! I have not been to it in a few years, and it's Mother's day weekend, so I gotta shop for my gift or gifts... yeah!

Have a super day, I just learned that I am needed to help move some furniture today, so I gotta cut this post short and jump in the shower. I better get something good outta this...like lunch!  Bye, Paula :)

a card in the making...

OMG, I almost lost some hair on the sketch this week over at CPS. This was a card that I never thought would get made, but I am thrilled with the end result...4 days later...LOL!042408_003_2

I used the Blooming With Love set, from Stampin' UP! I stamped this out at my BFF Janine's a few weeks ago and after so many failed attempts at other card ideas, I pulled this out and colored it up. I wanted to use this Basic Grey pp, and the colors all fell into place...I had a good night last night!

Do ya see those little sequins? They are fun and I have used them on a lot of projects in the past. Well, I was feeling funky last night and pulled them out!

I cut out the pots, and raised the lip, just a tiny bit, did some side stitching, really funky for me! Yet, I think the card is totally me, and pretty balanced looking, even though it seems so off balance and I like everything centered!

I have to keep this post short tonight, because I am getting ready to leave for bowling with a group of co-workers. So, until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by! I appreciate all the positive comments about my cards, they make me smile & laugh!!   bye....

elzybell and her gift...

Yet another stamp I had to have...they are kinda small and can fit in one hand...LOL042108_002  I still have a princess one, waiting to be finished!  So this groovy girl got some of the fabulous 'hippy chick' paper from SEI, isn't it cool? I used some twill from Stampin' UP! to kinda tone down all the pink I have going on, plus I like the thickness of it!

Other than that, same old stitchin' and my Hero Arts alphabet set. I found a blue envelope that went well with the paper and made my card the size to fit. Now that I am looking at this, I think I could have added some glitter...hmmmm.

Until we meet again, Happy Earth Day 2008!

Go use some of your scraps up and save the planet! haha   :)       peace!

a pretty bowl of apples...

Why would you send someone a bowl of apples? I guess 'just because', LOL!! I love this image, but unless you are doing a recipe project, or something to do with the state fair, what else does it convey? This was another stumper for me this weekend. I can think 'outside the box' pretty good, and I have a good imagination, but I just wasn't sure on what sentiment I wanted to put on this card.

So I pulled out my trust Mixed Mesaages from Paper Trey, and used the little 'just beacuse'. 041908

The paper is some more of my My Minds Eye stash, it's getting pretty low...getting all cut up into pieces actually. I made this card for Beate's weekend challenge, when I saw the sketch, I thought quilt, for some reason. {{ I am also one of those people who has strange random thoughts just pop into their heads! }}

Oh, the cute stamp is from Lockhart designs. I own a couple of her stamps and I love the hand drawn look of them.

Ya'll have a great day and come back soon, ya hear...

April 20, 2008

did I mention that....

I love Elzybell?041608_002

I know that I just had to, and here she is again. Oh, and she is so cute, even sick in bed! I made her some checked pj's and flowery sheets. I had a scrap piece of My Minds Eye paper left from yesterdays 'note' card, and it matched perfectly with my colors!! Can it get any better than that?

And since I still had that brown ribbon on my desk I paired it up with blue...again. I wrote the little sentiment myself, I finally picked up a thin brown marker from American crafts. Most times I would prefer brown as my neutral, as opposed to black. Sometimes black is just too 'in your face', and you just want to keep things all even.

I did do this card the night Jordan had her wisdom teeth pulled, because Jim had taken that day off and was her 'nurse' all day. She got really sick from the anesthesia and he was with her for 12 hours, wiping and cleaning her up. I was worried she might get dry socket because she was sick so much and couldn't keep anything down. I also only wanted to do two teeth at a time but she decided to go for all four when they got to the oral surgeon. Anyway...she is on the mend. The night I did this card I came out and asked her if she wanted me to mail it to her!  LOL    Well, I thought it was kinda funny, the ice pack just needed to be on her cheeks!

I gotta skee-daddle and get a card going for Beate's challenge this weekend! See ya!

saturday and something different...

I have been away from card making for a few days, my daughter had her 4 wisdom teeth pulled out on wednesday. We chose this week because she is on spring break, and with the nice weather...I have been doing things around the house and making soft foods for her to eat. So these cards I made a few days ago and didn't get a chance to post them. I stamped them out at my BFF Janine's house last week. If you haven't been to her blog, I will send you there in a second to check out the cool graduation card that she made. I saw her grad card and followed her link to another cool blog to see the easy instructions on how to do the folded card that I did. Wow! Did you follow all that? I hope you did and I am not totally confusing you, sometimes brain works faster than typing hand. 041208_012

This little kewpie is from Clear Art Stamps. I have to admit that I didn't think they would be my style. But I got to stamping them out and the more I stamped, the more I liked... Then I started coloring them up and I just loved how they popped off of the craft cardstock!

I didn't leave a ton of room around this little one with the birthday cake, so I had to cut it out individually.

This is a cool little card that is 4x12 and folded into this square, making it a gift card holder. These days...who doesn't love gift cards!  If you wanna check out what my BFF Janine did with this fold, click here. If you just wanna go straight to the gal who shows you how the card is folded, click here. It's a trail worth following because Janine did a really awesome gradution card and that season is coming up real fast!

My inside just had some of the dotted Making Memories paper that I used here on the front of my card. Plus, because I used black cardstock, you might not get the best idea of how it all looks. Now for another cute kewpie...041608_003

This little guy is so stinking cute! I used my punch from Stampin' UP! to make this look like note paper, and a wonderful piece of ledger paper from Making Memories.

Both of the patterned papers are from My Minds Eye. That chipboard 'note' is from a dollar bin at my lss, had that for a while. I just love blue and brown together and I picked up this brown satin ribbon at Michael's, it ties so nice. It is such a soft silky ribbon. I added two little Robins Nest dewdrops and off to my card basket at work!

I do have more little kewpies to turn into cards and if you haven't looked at this stamp line you gotta jump over there. They have great detailed stamps and I have my eye on a fishing set...

Thanks for dropping by today and have a wonderful weekend!   :)

these boots are made for splashin'

041208_007 Awww, I just love this card, if it was my birthday I would have someone send it to me. I have been enjoying these boots from the Flower Filled set. It has to be a favorite set and one I will not part with soon.

I used my red/pink stack from cats eye chalk, and more mustard from SU for the flowers. I added the tiny pearls, from Archivers, a little mixed messages from Paper Trey and some linen thread from SU. The flowered paper is Cosmo Crickets Honey Pie.041208_005

Today the Detroit area should see temps in the low 70's....we so deserve it. So I am gonna get outside after work and clear out last summers dead foliage so maybe I can see some pretty flowers popping up soon. Yeah, I planned on leaving all of last season blooms in the flower beds for protection...from all the snow we got this winter.....

ok, if you believe that then you are just way too kind!!!   LOL  Hope it is sunny where ever you are! love from sunny Michigan, Paula

April 15, 2008

feelin' froggy?

041208_004 Can you possibly stand one more frog card? I was hoping you could because I went all out with this guy! He got flowers and ribbon and his little mushroom and a whole scene to himself. He is just jumping for joy because of someones birthday and I gotta say, this guy is "unfroggetable"...lol

Same old song and dance for me though, I am affraid...prismacolors, gamsol and that tiny Hero Arts font. The swirly paper is from Chatterbox, a company that I have used so much in the past...love the linen texture!

Have a happy tuesday and see you soon!
