monday flowers...

031908_002 I decided better against letting my cat post for me. She is probably not real happy right now, LOL  I sent her dog-brother away so she gets to guard the house.

This card...I played with a stamp set from SU that I always loved, that's why I bought it I guess, and it hasn't been inked in a couple years. Flower Filled is so perfect for spring with them boots, I polka dotted them, I can't get enough polka dots in my diet! The dotted swiss texture is a new one from Cuttlebug, and Scrappy Chic, a lss, had it last week. If I could have done a cartwheel, I would have! While shopping there, they had the Tres Jolie line on clearance, and that is where the pp is from. I love, love...love My Minds Eye paper! The little metal anchor is from Close To My Heart, ribbon? I just keep scraps of all ribbon I find.

I wanted to try going back to some stamping images that don't require as much coloring. Because I get really stuck in using only images that I can color with my prismacolors and gamsol. And I do have some cool sets, like this one, that don't need coloring. I did get a little in with the shading of the boots! It's a hard habit to break! LOL

This card disappeared from my basket at work, first thing, the morning I took it in. I have this set on my table to see what else I can come up with. Thanks for looking!

is it really Easter??

You could have fooled me....we got snowed on again! I am sure this will be the topic for anyone in this midwest area, LOL Thank gosh I am heading out tomorrow for slightly warmer climates. So here is my last Easter cards...I promise. 031708_004I needed a few more for work and this first image was a hit, so why not make another one! It's very simple and the pp is from SU, I love the shade of yellow. I added some Hero Arts glitter too, that seems to just make all cards special, don't ya think? 031708_002 This second card had me reaching for some American Crafts 'Thickers', I had bought them for Valentines but didn't use them yet...story of my crafting life! The pp is from Basic Grey, very spring like! {{ who doesn't want that theses days! }} Oh, and that cute little bunny bottom made it onto one last card for this Easter...luckily it isn't just for Easter, and I can use it all year, hmmmmm The twill ribbon is from Papertrey ink, in last months color debut, spring moss.

I hope everyone gets to spend time with friends and family tomorrow, and not too much time in the kitchen! I will be on the road for at least 10 hours, and not in any kitchen. This is gonna be my first challenge to see how I can control my weight loss. I am not worring about it, but if you have ever had an issue with poundage than you know it's always at the back of your mind! LOL Have a super week & see ya soon! Thanks for stopping by!

daddy's girl...

031708_006 Can you see that little ladybug??  Well last night I was stamping out a bunch of things to take south, yeah, I'm gonna take some things to color with me! This little ladybug is so dang cute, and a friend from work was hoping I could get it on a card for her son & daughter-in-laws baby shower. Not a problem, but I wanted to do something a little more, something framed. This is an old frame from Target, and I just had it laying around in a drawer. I am gonna give it to my friend in the morning, but her crafty self needs to change the color. I personally would sand it down and paint it a cream color, make it look a little shabby, like the paper. I just don't have the time to do it, or the paint on hand any more. {{ I used to do the whole tole painting thing, but I gave that up and shipped all my paint up to my mom's house...more room for my "other" supplies!}} LOL  But, back to the ladybug, she is gonna be a surprise for the new daddy to be. He is gonna get a lot of ladybug stuff, and he doesn't know it yet. His mom and sisters have been collecting for a few months since they found out that their brother is having a little girl. The sisters both have only boys!

Ladybug, ladybug, she comes from an adorable!! set from Close To My Heart, called Flower Child. I was given this set as a total surprise by a friend, I was in love...it is full of cute chubby babies, think Anne Geddes. I pulled out my Tres Jolie paper, from My Minds Eye...oh the horror, it is clearanced, and I already feel the need for more!  The large font is from Technique Tuesday, called Savannah lowercase (extra large), the smaller font is Cosmopolitan lowercase (large). I bought these sets on clearance at a lss, do you guys rummage through clearance too??

I can't wait to see my friends face in the morning and see if she likes it. I love giving my stuff to people who love it back!

I have some research to do because I wanna see if there are any scrapbook/stamp stores in the Asheville area. Does anyone know of any?? Have a super Wednesday! Spring is only one day away!!!!!!! yeah!!! love, paula :)

a vintage bunny...

031308_020 and he's 'furs class' alright!  I tell everyone he's one of my oldest stamps, from when my mom used to stamp when I was a young girl...a long time ago! I think this is about the cutest little stamp, and he is little. I found the best way to get around this is with the 'belt' look...that and a little layering. The stamp is from All Night Media, paper is Tres Jolie from My Minds Eye, and that sentiment is from Verve Visual's Easter Elegance.  And now how about a second card...031308_021 I made this card as a request from a friend at work. That cross stitched looking paper is so spring like to me, it's Honey Pie from Cosmo Cricket. The bow came out fabulous for me, I am not a bow maker at all, I leave that to my mom. {{ when she isn't around I just cry and do it myself! LOL }} Why why why do I have the biggest problem adding little touches like those pearls? I think it needs something and then wish I didn't put them on once I see it. If you would have put them there I would have loved it, but me...not so much! This little guy got turned into a swinging charm and once again I used that Verve Visual sentiment...I love it!

Is everyone Easter carded out?  I hope not, I still have more. Has everyone gone down to the blog candy post that I posted on saturday? I have had so many ideas for the Bloom Where You're Planted sentiment, I can't wait to tell my friend at work! Thanks girls!

I also wanted to add that I am going to Asheville, North Carolina. I think we are gonna hit the Biltmore House, my husband has never been there. Mostly though just visiting with family I haven't seen a years! I still have more research to do about some other places around there, like Blowing Rock. Thanks for dropping by!

are you wearin' green today...

I am, I ain't gettin' pinched this year! As much as I love all shades of green, usually when this day rolls around, I don't have a green t-shirt to wear to work! To celebrate this spring holiday, I made my first St. Patrick's Day card. I wish I could have done a few more, but I just didn't get the time.031308_022 I did a layout that I have only done a few times, three items in a row. I gotta do this more because I like it a lot. This set is from Close To My Heart, and it's an all year set called Seasonal Thoughts. It's a handy set that I don't use nearly enough. I stamped the clover out in Palette's Jardin Moss, colored them in with my prismacolor pencils and put a little clear glaze pen over it all. Well, I been in such a glitter craze lately that I sprinkled some on, before the glaze dried. The awesome paper is from Rusty Pickle and I am glad I ran across that! LOL I love the shades in this paper, blues and greens! The cardstocks are from SU, sorry, I almost never know the names!

I wish you all the good luck you can handle today! Tomorrow is back to Easter stuff!   :)

a labor of love...

This weekend I had a couple more special cards to make, special requests that needed to be done before I go to North Carolina. So this is my first one, a birthday card for a male...who enjoys hunting/fishing.031508_001 What do ya think? I really like it, I knew this week what I was planning on doing, so it just took time to put it all together.031508_002 I don't have any stamp for this request, so I used this paper from Reminisce. When I was browsing the paper at a large lss, they didn't have too much to pick from, but this was all I needed! I love this sketchy fish! I cut out my own little pocket and sewed it all up and even gave it a tiny tag...can you read it? It says 'just for you' Then I cut out a tag, used the large eyelets from SU and put a cute sentiment on it...voila! I hope Linsey @ my work likes it as much as I do.

I am proud of myself for getting through this without having to have a stamp to use...just paper and my favorite Hero Arts alphabet! But believe me, I did look for a cool fish stamp!

Check the post below if you missed that I have some new blog candy to give away. It's a Hero Arts set, but it's a little bigger than this one!  Happy Sunday!!

blog candy...

Oh my gosh, do I feel like an old forgetful blond!  I was just raving on how Joann's is now carrying Hero Arts acrylic stamp sets, and I go and buy an alphabet set I already had!!! I thought it looked kinda familiar in my hands, but that's as far as the thought went...not like...did I already pick this one up?

So I am a sharing type of gal, and I need to send this set out to one of you nice folk! I have not mentioned yet that I am heading south on Easter, for a week. My mom is from North Carolina and we are all going down there {{my parents, husband, daughter and niece and I}} and going to go to Dollywood too! So I figured do a blog candy, and have this set out in the mail by Good Friday. BUT...I have a burning question from a friend at work, and I need stampers/cardmakers help. I am almost embarrassed to admit I had no answer for this girl when I was asked the question.

"Bloom where you're plantedWhat kind of card is this, if you use this sentiment. I said just an everyday card, but maybe that's not right, and it could mean more than that?031508_003 Help!!  I love the saying and I have used it on a card, but I'm stumped!

You creative minds all have until midnight wednesday and I will announce the winner thursday morning. And hey, if you are like me and have no idea...just say HI!

Thanks for helping me out!   paula :)

chicks rule!

031308_014 These chicks really rule because they are decked out in sparkly bunny ears. This little stamp is one that I picked up last year from savvy stamps. I have still seen it around this year and I still think she is just too cute! The Happy Easter sentiment is from Verve Visual, I really like the font that it's in!  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket...Honey Pie!!  A little birdy {{thanks, Debbie!}} told me that she ordered hers from Lifetime Moments. It didn't take me but a minute to pop on over to their website last week and order mine too. Whey did I order it from there, you might ask? Well, Lifetime Moments is about a 10 minute drive from my house & work! I ordered it thursday and picked it up on friday afternoon. When I got there, the front of the store was full of tables and product that had just come in and they were in the middle of a huge pulling process for all their orders. I was in heaven!!

This chick got "honey pied" too!  I used glitter on all these these chick cards, but it may be hard to tell in my photos today...sorry, they really sparkle in person!

031308_015031308_018_3This patterned paper is from my 6x6 pad of Two Scoops, from Basic Grey. This card is my favorite of the three, and I had to close that jar of glitter, it is everywhere on my table!!

Well, this chicks gotta get to the gym and get working on more cards today. My daughter is gonna be at school all day, helping out with a spring drumline/wintergaurd show and Jim is working during the day. So I get to be home without a car, no money spending today! LOL

Oh, I did spend some money yesterday...at Joann's! Normally I have hard time finding anything to buy there, especially with a 40% off coupon...everything is on sale! But!! Wait a minute, they are now carrying Hero Arts acrylic stamps, yes! the same ones I been buying for $14.99 at other stores. Girls, they were on sale too! $5.99. Does everyone know this already? If I wasn't so hungry, I'd have gone back for more. Joann's is also carrying Inkadinkado acrylic sets, finally some new product!

Enough rambling, let's get stampin'   Happy saturday all!!  Thanks for dropping by!

March 14, 2008

you are all invited...

031308_002 to a bunny hop!  I have had bunnies hopping all over my scraproom all week. Blue bunnies, pink bunnies, glitter bunnies, Easter has to be right around the corner! I am very pleased to report that all the bunnies have found suitable homes, and now I need to clean up that mess they left across my table. Will someone hand me the stamp cleaner? Wouldn't that be wonderful, a personal assistant to scrub my stamps when I am done, so they can be cleaned as I go. Goodbye piles of inky rubber! haha

My cards are pretty straight forward, but I still wanted to do different layouts on all of them. This SU set, Bunny Hugs, is the awesomest! I finally used my Papertrey Mixed Messages set, and paired it up with Cuttlebugs tiny tags die cuts. I have to say that white and yellow is where I am lacking in my ribbon stash, so this guy got some simple white grosgrain...Wal-mart! Here's another bunny that was born during my "blue period" this week. For anyone else out there who has Papertrey's aqua mist, released last month, that is the grosgrain used below.  031308_012                                                                              031308_007_2

Hey, looky here...another bunny! I had a request for a blue bunny from a friend, because her daughter loves blue...or technically, aqua. I'm game for anything bunny right now! Tis the season to be 'hoppy'!  The ribbon on this card used the other Papertrey color from last month, spring moss...love it!                   031308_009 Ok, last blue bunny for the night! This little guy is a more traditional blue color. I just love this guy... The patterned paper that he's sitting on is from the Making Memories pack that I gave away for blog candy about two weeks ago, Chelsea's Place. All my bunnies are also showcased on cut/embossed rectangles, courtesy of my nestabilities!

I hope you enjoyed today's bunny lineup. I had a fun time coloring this stamp set, and tomorrow is for the 'chicks'!!  See ya soon, paula!!
