I'm back and my tree isn't up yet, so I decided to color a Bella who's decorating hers, merrybella! I may get to putting mine up tonight and I am a little affraid the new kitten is gonna like it too much. {she likes everything and is super nosy!} I still have a few other things to get to tonight, before I even think about it...
This whole cookie frosting look came from this paper by American Crafts. I colored up my Bella, who is stamped on Bella's bestest paper, with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Then I cut out with nesties and went to work making it extra delicious, using lots of glitter, glaze and liquid applique. All the little dots around the main image are liquid applique with glitter on top. I even cut out a tree and added it to the front of my card.
I bought a new sewing machine friday night at Target. The Brother machine that I had originally bought back when my sister-in-law gave me hers. Now, it's a machine that has that vine stitch I been wanting...but man the machine is not a quiet as the big old Kenmore. I am keeping it though because I gotta have that stitch! lol. On this card I was using the new machine and I am getting used to where the stitch actually goes...and I didn't do a very good job! Oh well, I need to practice some more! haha {I'm sure I will}
We are not having a BellaRIFFIC friday gallery this week. Saturday there is a hop and I still need to get all that info loaded onto my blog. Bella is turning 3!! Emily has all kinds of stuff going on and that is my next task for tonight..updating my sidebar on my blog here...I don't do very well with it :( I can never remember how to do it. I played around with light pinks in the swirls around her potion bottle and glittered all over the hearts. Josephine's dress bottom isn't all that many colors, can you believe it! It's just a little pressure and then some burnt umber for shading. I added glitter to her dress and lots of clear glaze pen to the jewels hanging on her dress. I really got the idea to color Josephine from this Bo-bunny paper, but ya can't see much of it, I know, lol

I hope everyone has had their fill of turkey and all the trimmings, shopped their hearts out and got some good deals. Me, I got a few little deals, nothing to brag about...came home and put together some cards. ***note to self, the crying sound coming from the box is the tree...it wants to come out! find some time...lol Has anyone else put their tree up yet?
On to card business. I have something *new* from my pal Kimmie and this here is a little sneak at what is being released on Sunday 11/29 at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Her name is Drucilla and I think she is looking for her someone to love! {oh, this could so be me with my lil' george doll, wishing he would love me...}
Kimmie is already shooting for Valentine's Day, so this was fun to color a non Christmas-y image. I personally was smitten with the artist of these images, Annie Rodrigue, that I ordered a few prints from her. My inspiration for Drucilla was the plaid paper from October Afternoon and it is all colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.
Ms. Kimmie has gotten her DT together and she invited some lucky stampin' friends {me!} to help her launch her newest stamps. There will be a Blog Hop that is gonna start Sunday @ 1:00 a.m. est. and I have another card/image by Annie Rodrigue to show ya... ...look who decided against shopping in the wee hours of the night! Yeah, that'd be me! lol Jordan and I spent last night watching movies, and I am sad to say I woud not recomment the Reese Witherspoon movie "4 Christmases". I was dyin' to see it and I did...there were some funny parts from Vince Vaughn, but otherwise, not much else. I did see "New Moon" with Jordan and I liked it! hehe, I hated the first Twilight movie, I was hoping for way too much after reading the books, but number two was pretty good. I think Jordan even admitted she liked New Moon better!
Ok, enough movie chatter, I could {would like to} be a critic but that ain't what we are here for today, now is it? It's BellaRIFFIC friday and I have a twisted interpretation of the sketch to show you. I was chit chatting on the phone when I was putting my UPHOUSE card together and I ended up with it going in a different direction.
Right away I knew I was using this Bo-Bunny paper for the colors. I used it last friday and I love it! It made deciding what to color the balloons very easy, and I knew I wanted to then keep the houses very neutral. I had my heart set on using this image, but I had to cut out my focal foint in a circle. It just seemed to fit better in this shape, then in a square. This is stamped out on Bella's bestest paper and colored with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I didn't use the sentments that come with the UPHOUSE stamp, I decided to use the 'whussup' instead. {Should I confess that I totally forgot it came with 2 sentiments? I had this stamped for at least a month now and sitting on my desk.}

I love Stella. I was asked to put together a class of 4 Stella cards for Scrappin' & Stampin' and I could not have been happier that others love her like I do! So here are the four images we are doing in a couple days...
There are at least 3 Stella images dedicated to birthday's and I picked the Stella's cupcake to start with. You always need a birthday card for someone, don't ya? Tangled Stella is ready to celebrate the holidays and I had to do her, right? She looks like a gal ready to make some mischief...
Stella needs a prezzie is holiday themed but could also be for birthday's, so make that 4 birthday Stella's, lol!! I colored her up to match the very cute Bo-Bunny Christmas paper I have been hoarding, did I say that??
Last, but not least, Stella DIGS it is an image I grabbed and still had not colored. Don't ask, cause now that I colored it, I wanna color it again! I love the colors in this card and I love that line of Cosmo Cricket paper from this summer..yummy.
So there you have it girls! Eight images I hope you will enjoy coloring as much as I did!

I told ya I was gonna show you what is in store for the newbies on saturday at Scrappin' & Stampin' here in Michigan and here they are...
We will start with Pookie lollipop and the shading will be with really easy, just one pencil and the pressure you can apply to get a depth of color. That is except for all faces...the face will always get the same three colors + cheeks. There is no ground shading or shadows. Just a little way to show how the blending is done with stumps and gamsol {oms}. Then I thought we could move on to one of my favorite Huggabuggs...Fluey! I have not colored him/her yet so I was excited to finally ink her up and make a card. She colors up pretty quickly, for me, and in the H1N1 erathese could come in handy, no? Poor little thing, I wanna make her some soup just looking at her! lol
Buy all good things, *ehem* simple things, must come to an end and we need to use more colors to deepen our palette. We need to start to get an idea of how to layer and add some shading. It'll be fun and painless...promise! Lizzy lollipop is here to guide you and I even have a cute idea for a sentiment if you wanna say, give it to someone like myself.. "you couldn't BEE any sweeter" or some version of that, lol!!
Finally we will end our beginners class with a little Beary Best Friend, and I have colored this in so many colors! I love this bear, he/she is so versatile...baby theme, a sick child, toddler, need a hug? I colored him to match the paper and he is totally adorable, if I say so myself.
So, here is what my new group of newbies will be coloring on saturday. I have no doubt that everyone will come away with beautiful images and cards to give away and be proud of!

Hi! I made it through the overtime yesterday at Flushmate and all I can say is that I hope eveyone is enjoying all those pressure assist toilets! {yeah, that is my day job mon-fri, for those of you have so nicely just joined me here! toilets.} I did get a little shopping in last night, after a nap and dinner. My mom was here with Jordan while we were in Toronto and they went shopping to Kohl's and had some 'Kohl's cash' for me to spend. I have been on the lookout for some new rugs for my kitchen and finally found some.
Today I spent the first part of my afternoon catching up on last weeks The Offica, and TWO weeks of Nip/Tuck. Then I headed to my room to settle in for some card making for class next weekend. I am finishing up cutting paper tonight and things are falling into place... yes, I will be up at 3:30 for shopping on black friday, NO, I am not cooking Thnksgiving dinner, we will be heading to Cracker Barrel.
Today I did do a little coloring and I colored up a boy! Can you believe that, LOL I love these new Stamping Bella Lollipop's by Lori Boyd and I pulled out my Cosmo Cricket 'boyfriend' paper for inspiration. Ethan and his
skateboard came together pretty easily for me, even though I didn't apply glitter or ribbon. I stamped him out on Bella's bestest paper and colored him with my prismacolor pencils. {I also added the checks in his pants} I loved all the colors in this striped paper, how could I have not used it before???
It's a pretty quick clean card and I left it plain with no sentiment. I have been doing that alot lately in case there is a need for a card and I don't have to fuss around with changing sentiments out. {hmmm, when I type that out and re-read it, just sounds like I am lazy! ;) }
Tomorrow I am gonna start posting the cards I am teaching this up coming weekend at Scrappin' & Stampin'. My first class saturday is a true beginners class and the second class is 4 Stella cards! I am pretty excited, all the Stella images are new and I have not colored them much before. See ya soon! Love, paula :)
...another BellaRIFFIC friday and an early Thanksgiving feast! Every year at Flushmate we put on our own luncheon and for the past several years, my work bud Joanne & I have been running the show. This morning we are cooking two turkeys, dishing out one spiral sliced ham, and all the fixings that comes along with that. The "fixings" are brought in by all of us at work and we get it all heated and set out for the people who have been smelling cooking food all morning! This is where I first carved a turkey and really sunk my hands into pulling that ham off the bone, lol It's fun, I enjoy it and as I write this...I am already getting a little hungry.
Enough about food...our challenge this week is anything BELLA! I picked the newest one, babycarriageabella and colored her up in Niagara Falls. No paper inspiration, just knew I
wanted her in a brown dress. {I also really wanted to work that new holiday punch you see peeking out, from Martha} I also hoped to keep it genaric so it wasn't specifically for a new mom expecting a boy. How'd I do?? lol
I have also been in a very brown mood and been putting brown with everything! OMG, it's still the neautral for me! For my "you glow girl" tag, I stamped and added the spongeed shading after, but still wanted the word 'glow' to shine, so I added a little pearl-ex with a cotton swab. Now that delish paper I picked up last weekend at Bellaland and I LOVE the colors in it, if I am remembering correct it is Bo-Bunny and new....? {I am at work and will correct this if I am wrong, later on}The double dotted brown paper is Bo-Bunny too.
So, Paula has been busier than a one armed paper hanger and getting ready for my next round of classes at Scrappin' & Stampin' in Livonia. It's been a while since I have seen those girls and can't wait to see them next weekend! I have officially decided that there will be very few people who get a handmade card from me this year...and I am dragging to Jim to Hobby Lobby for 40% off boxed Christmas cards. I noticed last weekend that they carried the Lang companies cards and I LOVE them and every year have a Lang company calendar framed in my kitchen...I think since Jordan was little. Time flies. I am also dragging Jim to Bob Evans for dinner because I LOVE their gravy, last night Jim made some pretty amazing chicken parmesan, thanks to Bobby Flay...yummmmm I figured I would repay him with dinner out tonight! LOL
Next week our Bella challenge is a sketch, for all you sketch lovers out there... I will post on sunday, see ya soon!
I am beginning to wonder if I don't need to take two days off when I return from Toronto...LOL I am already feeling behind in my coloring, then I get to work and forget my meds...and if I skip taking my pill at the same time every day I start to feel funky!! {it's an anxiety med and I have been on it for years now, I can't skip a dose} Sooooo, when I got home it was waiting for me and I had to lay down for an hour or so and let it kinda kick in.
I started coloring some things while we were in Niagara Falls and tonight I finally finished the twins... Leslie & Lorie lulu! {big wave to the real Leslie & Lorie...hi guys!! I finally got them done!} I colored these two cuties on Bella's bestest {CREAM} paper! Emily now has it available online, it's soft and not yellow-ee. I used a lot of colors in the dress on the right, crazy color combos but they came out so cool, and the white dots are from a white glaze pen, just like my favorite clear & black. It makes such a fun texture, can't stop touching it, lol
I colored this on the fly, no paper in mind but when it was all finished I knew that any paper in my stash was just too overpowering for the girls. I layed out several sheets and I decided on something very simple, it's the back side of an old piece of Chatterbox paper. {did that company go away?? I LOVED them!} I used a EK Success punch for the micro pinking at the bottom.

My classes this weekend were amazing and I really love getting to know the names and faces of returning gals and ones I remembered from the CreativFestival in Oct. In my second class I get an envelope handed to me...{Hi Sandy!} and Sandy tells me to put it in my purse and open it later, lol it's not a Bella image. I get back to the hotel room and tear into it and this is the card that was inside. Isn't it amazing!! I bought a book on tea-bag folding and never tried it, I think this is what it is. It is gorjuss, and perfect and the inside is as nice as the outside. Thanks Sandy! It's hanging up with my little collection of cards in my room.
